Grace Gospel Church and Hunslet Baptist Church

It was a truly wonderful weekend of celebration as Grace Gospel Church moved into Hunslet Baptist Church, marking the continuation of Baptist mission and ministry in Hunslet, Leeds and beyond. This event beautifully illustrated the power of associating together, creating a God-moment where two church communities were brought together - one at a point of need and the other at a point of opportunity.

The entire August bank holiday weekend was filled with praise, gratitude and eager expectation. As the church reflected on God’s past faithfulness, they also looked forward with hopeful anticipation. Alex Harris, YBA Regional Minister for Pioneering and Planting, who spoke at the Saturday celebration for Grace Gospel Church, highlighted the spirit of thankfulness that permeated the gathering. He shared, “I was amazed and welcomed the sense of gratitude from Grace Gospel Church - gratitude toward the people of Hunslet Baptist Church for their faithfulness and generosity, gratitude towards Kez Robinson for guiding them forward in receiving the gift of this building, and gratitude to Jesus whom they praised ceaselessly.”

The day was a powerful testament to the vision of church planting, the capacity for generosity and innovation between Baptist church communities, and a deep confidence in the work of the Holy Spirit that even as one thing ends, a new thing is released.
