Ministry
The YBA Staff Team and our Ministry Group seek to support all those who are engaged in ministry in Yorkshire.
This includes both those who are taking their first steps of exploring a call, and those who are looking for ways to continually develop their ministerial skills and their formation.
Ministerial Support
Our Regional Ministers are available to get alongside ministers in the Association and to offer pastoral care and support where needed.
If you would like support for yourself or your minister, please get in touch with your Regional Minister. If you are unsure who this is, contact Debbie Gamble in the YBA office - email here
Accredited Baptist Ministry
The Association works on behalf of the Baptist Union of Great Britain in the process of interviewing and commending applicants for accredited Baptist ministry. This means firstly the discerning and commending of someone for ministerial training and then continuing to support those who have completed their training and are now newly-accredited ministers (NAMs).
The process involves the Ministry Group gathering to pray, interview the applicant, and together discern God's calling to accredited ministry. They seek to do this with great care and with a sense of fairness and justice, taking account of each individual.
The YBA also offers Regional Recognition where national BUGB accreditation may not be appropriate.
Anyone wishing to explore a call to ministry is encouraged to discuss this with their local church and with a Regional Minister.
