News from Sheffield
THE Revd Andy West – Church Planter and interim minister at Cemetery Road Baptist Church, Sheffield, writes:- "WITH our movements and social interaction restricted how can we make the most of Lent in Lockdown and improve our mental and spiritual health? www.Pilgrimageonline.live * is offering a free 40-day Lent pilgrimage using reflections in a small garden to help us go on a spiritual journey towards Easter. Most people have access to a garden or park and each day there will be a short video to watch based upon items, plants and observations from the garden which aim to nurture and nourish our souls and emotions. Even if a person does not have access to a green space it is hoped that by joining the garden pilgrimage, they will experience something of the wonder of a garden through their virtual interaction. Each day there will be a more detailed written reflection on the website for those who have more time and want to go deeper. Gardens have a very important place in the Bible with the Garden of Eden being the first and a heavenly garden being the last. The garden of Gethsemane is central to the Easter Story. While physically limited it is hoped that there will be no limits on how far we can journey spiritually. See this 3 minute introductory video for more information https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOl8et44ZF8 or visit www.pilgrimageonline.live. " * www.Pilgrimageoline.live is a website seeking to make the experience of pilgrimage accessible to all. They seek to connect with those who would not be able to make the physical journey due to personal circumstance and with those who want to reduce their carbon footprint by not travelling long distances. |
