News from Denholme

Judith Drake, at Denholme Shared Church, writes: -

"This year at Denholme we have been unable to hold the usual services for Remembrance Sunday at the church or at the local war memorial. 

However, over the months of lockdown, we kept ourselves busy by knitting poppies to display outside the church. 

Over 2,500 poppies have been used to create a cascade of poppies down the side of the church building.  

It was great team work by our small congregation with the help of neighbours and friends. 
The display is also floodlit in an evening, and has been greatly admired by the community.  We hope it helps them to remember this special time and shows that the church is alive and active even if we can’t hold the usual services.”
