Well done Robert!
REMEMBER earlier this year we told you about Barnoldswick Baptist Church's treasurer aiming to conquer the mountains?
Well Robert Sneath has done it - and more! In February Robert, who took early retirement from Rolls Royce last year, set himself a challenge - to climb 32 of the Scottish Munros (mountains over 3000ft) to raise funds for Christian Aid’s work around the world.
Eight months later and he has actually conquered 34. When asked how he felt on completing the challenge he said: “It felt really great that I had managed to do more than I had initially intended. It has been a truly exhilarating and fascinating experience.”
Robert, who is 64, has raised a staggering £4,400 for Christian Aid with donations coming from as far away as France, Canada, and New Zealand. He would like to thank everyone who has sponsored him: “Hopefully the money I have raised will enable more people to be treated in a just and true manner, that they might not starve, and that medical supplies might be freely available no matter what their class, religion, age or gender.”
