A town with a mission!

FRIENDS at Skipton Baptist Church are involved in an exciting missional project with all the churches in the town.
Skipton logoFebruary and March will be spent exploring Jesus through various services, prayers and outreach events - under the challenge of #doyouknowHim? Do you know Jesus? Or do you just know something about Him? Do you want to know Jesus more? Do you want others to know Him?

The minister, the Revd Phil Burns, writes: “Every Saturday we will have a #doyouknowHim? station outside in Skipton  to engage people in conversation about Jesus.
“In the churches, we are also following a 10-week sermon series on Jesus.  This includes inter-church small groups too. We are also having some joint prayer events.”

The initiative came about following last year’s Easter service planning which developed into a 10-week sermon and small group series, followed by Skipton Baptist Church and the local Pentecostal church.

Phil adds: “We then shared the idea with the other churches alongside the thought of doing some outreach and mission work together.”
Evangelist and former BUGB President the Revd Chris Duffett (pictured) led some training for the initiative and 70 people from different churches turned up.
